This historic site is not too far from Mustard canyon which is also a must visit place in Death valley. The quarter mile loop has laminated interpretive sites that tell the history of the place. Death valley developed around the Harmony Borax works factory that started in 1883, just 5 after which they had to shutdown the business. At its peak 3 tonnes of borax was produced per day which was transported from the factory using double wagon that was pulled by the famous 20-mule teams.
The dry climate of the valley helped preserve the ruins till date. It was entered in the National Register of Historic places in 1974. Overall the largest National park in the lower 48 states with its extreme temperatures and all the different landscapes definitely deserves a place in your travel bucket list.
